CM Mohan Majhi launches ₹1,330 crore development projects in Keonjhar
Bhubaneswar, April 29: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi dedicated development projects worth over ₹1,330 crore to the people of Keonjhar district during his recent visit, marking a major push towards infrastructure growth and public transport improvement.
Addressing a development conclave, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones, inaugurated completed works, and announced a series of new initiatives covering a total of 187 projects. Among these, 62 projects worth around ₹705 crore were launched, while 24 completed projects valued at approximately ₹251 crore were inaugurated. Additionally, a fresh package of nearly ₹375 crore was announced for 101 new projects aimed at accelerating the district’s overall development.
A key highlight of the visit was the launch of an electric bus (e-bus) service to enhance urban mobility. The Chief Minister flagged off 25 modern e-buses and inaugurated the ‘Ama Bus’ Depot, constructed at a cost of ₹17 crore. The service offers affordable travel, with fares starting at just ₹5, and features air-conditioned buses equipped with CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and GPS tracking for passenger safety.
The initiative also promotes women empowerment, with several women employed as bus guides and drivers, reinforcing the government’s focus on inclusive growth.
