CRPF Havildar found dead in Cuttack rented house, police launch probe

Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a rented house in Cuttack city, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Havildar Diti Krishna Panda, who was posted in Jharkhand and had recently returned home on leave. The incident occurred at a rented house in Nayabazar under the jurisdiction of the CRRI Police Station.

According to preliminary reports, Panda was at home with his wife during the Holi festival on Wednesday, while their two sons were away. It is suspected that a dispute may have occurred between the couple over some issue earlier in the day.

Later in the afternoon, Panda’s body was reportedly found hanging inside the house. The circumstances surrounding the death have raised several questions, particularly as his wife was present at the residence at the time of the incident.

Before police arrived, the body had already been brought down by locals and family members. Panda was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and begun a detailed investigation.
