Man kills wife over alleged affair, then dies by suicide in Gajapati

Bhubaneswar, June 10: A shocking incident has rocked Gaiba village under Serango police limits in Gajapati district, where a man allegedly murdered his wife over suspicion of an extra-marital affair before taking his own life. The accused, identified as Narendra Paika, is said to have strangled his wife, Monalisa, on Monday morning, leading to a tragic end for the couple.
The horrifying events unfolded with Narendra recording a video confession to the crime, which has since circulated widely on social media. In the video, he emotionally accused Monalisa of infidelity, alleging her involvement with another man, supposedly with her mother's knowledge.
"Despite having a husband, she was looking for someone else. I will now ruin her life so that she cries for the rest of it. I am not angry, just hurt. You lied to me. I asked you several times about your affairs, but you always denied them," he stated in the distressing footage.
Later the same day, Narendra's body was discovered hanging from a tree in a nearby forested area, confirming his death by suicide. Reports indicate that Monalisa and Narendra had a love marriage and resided at her in-laws’ house. However, their relationship was reportedly plagued by frequent disputes stemming from Narendra's suspicions of her infidelity.
