Ravenshaw University website hacked, redirects to betting site on mobile devices

Bhubaneswar, July 28: In a concerning cyber security breach, the official website of Ravenshaw University has been hacked and is currently redirecting mobile users to a betting platform named ‘Bento-4D’ instead of displaying the university’s official content. The incident has disrupted several academic and administrative services, particularly affecting students trying to download certificates and access vital information.
According to sources, the university administration has yet to release an official statement regarding the hacking. Meanwhile, students have expressed frustration over the technical glitch, which has brought various online processes to a standstill.
This is not an isolated case in Odisha’s education sector. Just recently, the Instagram account of the state’s Higher Education Department was hacked and misused to upload obscene content. However, that account was swiftly recovered and restored.
Cybersecurity experts have been engaged to investigate the breach at Ravenshaw University and to restore the website at the earliest. Authorities are also trying to trace the origin of the cyber-attack.
In the meantime, students and faculty are urged to remain cautious, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and report any unusual activity related to the university’s digital platforms.
