Minor girl allegedly gang-raped by four youths in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: In a disturbing and deeply troubling incident, a young minor girl was reportedly gang-raped by four youths on Saturday night in the Laxmipur area of Koraput district.

This harrowing event came to light only after the victim bravely lodged a complaint at the Laxmipur Police Station on Sunday.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Koraput Superintendent of Police (SP) promptly directed the Laxmipur Police to carry out a thorough and serious investigation. According to initial reports, the minor had visited Biriguda village to attend an opera show at the Thakurani Jatra. During the event, four young men allegedly coerced her into accompanying them to a nearby hill where they brutally assaulted her.

The Laxmipur Police have since launched an investigation and detained the four accused individuals, all of whom are residents of the Kasipur area in Rayagada district. The police have also scheduled a medical examination for the victim to gather crucial evidence, while the detained suspects are currently being interrogated to uncover further details about the incident.
