Five laborers from Ganjam sustain severe burns in Bengaluru fire incident

Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: Five laborers from Berhampur in Ganjam district sustained severe burn injuries in Bengaluru on Wednesday after a fire broke out while they were cooking. The victims, identified as Santosh Behera, Pabitra Sethi, Runa Sahu, Bipin Sethy, and Sarathi Sethi, were employed at a spare parts company in the city.
According to reports, the incident occurred when one of the laborers accidentally ignited a gas cylinder while preparing a meal. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the room and causing serious burns to all five individuals. Local residents immediately rushed to the scene, providing critical assistance and calling for emergency medical help.
The injured laborers were subsequently transported to a medical college for urgent treatment. Their family members are now in shock and are making arrangements to travel to Bengaluru to support their loved ones. The local administration is also working to ensure the safe return of the laborers to their hometown once they have received adequate medical care.
