Odisha to launch Mukhyamantri Bus Seva in Kotia to improve remote connectivity

Bhubaneswar : In a major initiative aimed at strengthening public transport in remote areas, Odisha Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena on Tuesday announced that the state government will soon launch the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva in the Kotia region of Koraput district.
Speaking to the media, Minister Jena said the scheme is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve road connectivity and public services in underdeveloped and geographically challenging areas like Kotia. The region has long suffered from inadequate transport facilities, making access to health care, education, and markets difficult for residents.
“All departments will work in coordination under the leadership of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari to ensure holistic development of Kotia,” Jena stated. “The Transport Department will soon operationalize the bus service to enhance last-mile connectivity.”
The minister also highlighted Kotia’s natural richness, noting that one of its hills is widely known as the ‘Golden Hill’ for its mineral deposits.
The upcoming bus service is expected to be a game-changer, facilitating easier access to government services and boosting local economic activities.
