Four Migrant workers from Odisha killed, 18 injured in Telangana bus accident

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: In a tragic accident, four migrant workers from Odisha, including two women, lost their lives, and 18 others sustained critical injuries when the bus they were traveling in collided with a stationary truck in Telangana’s Suryapet district early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 3:00 am on the Khammam-Suryapet National Highway. The private bus, carrying 32 passengers, had departed from Sinapali block in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday and was en route to Hyderabad.
According to reports, the collision with the parked truck caused extensive damage, killing four passengers on the spot. The injured were rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Local authorities, including the police, promptly responded to the scene to assist in rescue operations. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, while an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the accident.
The tragic incident highlights the risks faced by migrant workers traveling long distances for employment.
