Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: A newborn baby boy reportedly went missing from Rajsunakhala Community Health Centre in Nayagarh district on Saturday, triggering outrage among the family.

Sudhismita Parida, a resident of Bolgarh Godabhanga, was admitted to the hospital on Friday due to labor pains and delivered a baby boy on Saturday morning. However, when her family arrived to see the newborn, they found he was missing.

The family alleged that the infant was stolen and held the hospital authorities accountable. Sudhismita's husband, Bijay, claimed, "We were not allowed to see the baby after birth. The staff said the baby was taken for treatment, but we couldn't find him anywhere."

The family has lodged a complaint with the local police, demanding action against those responsible.

Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage while questioning hospital staff to uncover the truth. "Efforts are underway to trace the missing baby," said a police official.
