Winter Session Of Odisha Assembly From Today

Bhubaneswar: The winter session of the Odisha Assembly will begin from today. The opposition BJD and Congress have prepared a strategy to confront the ruling party on several issues. The ruling party has also finalized its strategy to confront the opposition. The supplementary budget is scheduled to be presented on the first day of the session. Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the supplementary budget at the house. Political commentators have opined that the current session will be lively on various issues.
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting was held in the Speaker's room in the Assembly building on Monday morning under the chairmanship of Speaker Surma Padhi. She sought everyone's cooperation to conduct the assembly session in an orderly manner. Opposition leader Naveen Patnaik and deputy leader Prasanna Acharya were absent from the meeting. Opposition BJD leader Pramila Mallick joined the meeting. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Congress Legislative Party leader Ramachandra Kadam, and CPI(M) member Laxman Munda were present at the key meeting.
