Cuttack Municipal Corporation turmoil: Opposition protest extends into third day

Cuttack : The protest led by opposition party Corporators at the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) office extended into its third day on Wednesday.
Former MLA and Cuttack district BJP President Prakash Behera engaged in discussions with the protesting Corporators, alleging long-standing corruption and irregularities within the civic body authorities. Simultaneously, Congress supporters expressed solidarity by staging a dharna in front of the CMC office, vowing to continue the strike until an investigation is launched into the allegations raised by the Corporators.
Asserting the support of their respective wards, BJP Corporator Gagan Ojha emphasized the public's demand to curb corruption within the CMC. Ojha condemned the disruptive behavior and abrupt halt of the council meeting, describing it as shameful and underscoring the quest for justice.
In response, CMC Commissioner Nikhil Pawan Kalyan stated that efforts are in progress to address the issue through discussions with the protesting Corporators.
