IMD forecasts dry weather across Odisha, issues fog and cold wave warnings
Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather conditions to prevail across most districts of Odisha over the next 24 hours. The weather agency also stated that there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures during this period, bringing some relief from extreme fluctuations.
However, fog is likely to affect several regions. Shallow to moderate fog is expected in districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, and neighbouring areas, especially during early morning hours. In view of possible visibility issues, the IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for dense fog in isolated pockets of Sundargarh, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The department further warned of cold wave conditions in parts of the state. Jharsuguda and Angul are likely to experience cold wave conditions on January 14. Similar weather conditions may also prevail in Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Jharsuguda, and Khordha districts on January 15.
Additionally, dense fog is expected in Sundargarh, Puri, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, and Koraput districts on the morning of January 15. The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious, particularly while travelling during foggy conditions.
