Protests planned across Odisha by INDIA bloc in November

Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: In November, the INDIA bloc is gearing up to stage protests in Odisha, denouncing what they perceive as mismanagement by both the state and Central government, as revealed by a prominent Congress leader on Sunday.
This decision was collectively reached during a meeting among the allied parties convened here over the weekend. The INDIA alliance, a consortium of 17 political parties in Odisha, came together for a crucial gathering, resulting in the establishment of a 17-member coordination committee.
This committee has unanimously opted to organize protests in Rayagada, Sambalpur, Rourkela, and Balasore during the upcoming month. Their protests will primarily target what they label as the "authoritarian rule of the BJP at the national level and the BJD government at the state level."
Sarat Patnaik, President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, shared, "Leaders from all participating parties will unite in protest, decrying the BJD and BJP, whom they accuse of governing autocratically, seemingly unconcerned about democratic principles."
These planned demonstrations will involve substantial rallies and protests across the aforementioned locations, with the aim of raising public awareness about the diverse issues discussed during the ongoing meeting.
In response to queries, Patnaik clarified that the matter of ticket allocation within the alliance parties has not yet been broached. He also noted that the 17-party coalition has previously held four meetings, emphasizing that specific protest dates will be disclosed following the conclusion of the Puja festivities.
