CM Majhi orders probe into bomb threats at courts in three districts
Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed deep concern over bomb threats received at district courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Deogarh and ordered a thorough investigation to identify those behind the incidents. According to reports, threatening messages were received around noon, triggering panic among court staff, advocates, and visitors.
Soon after the information reached him, CM Majhi directed senior officials to immediately verify the authenticity of the threats and take all necessary precautionary measures. He also held discussions with Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) Hemant Sharma, and Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania to assess the situation.
The Chief Minister instructed them to maintain strict vigilance and ensure the safety of people and public property. Emphasizing zero tolerance towards such acts, Majhi said there would be no compromise on citizens’ security and that the matter must be handled with utmost seriousness.
Senior police officials have been deployed to monitor the situation closely in all affected districts. Security arrangements at court premises have been tightened, and search operations are underway.
Additionally, a high-level review meeting is scheduled this evening, where the Chief Minister will further evaluate the situation and issue necessary directions.
