Probe into singer Humane Sagar’s death stalls after IO transfer, family and fans seek justice
Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: The investigation into the mysterious death of popular Odia singer Humane Sagar has reportedly hit a roadblock following the transfer of the investigating officer from Markatnagar police station to Lalbag police station, raising concerns over the pace and direction of the probe.
According to reports, Humane Sagar’s mother, Shefali Suna, had lodged a detailed complaint at Markatnagar police station on December 21, naming nine persons in connection with her son’s death. However, despite notices being issued, none of the accused have reportedly been questioned so far, adding to the family’s anxiety.
The recent transfer of IIC Satyabrat Bhutia, who was handling the case, has further intensified fears of delay and possible dilution of the investigation. Family members and supporters have expressed apprehension that crucial leads may be overlooked, allowing those responsible to evade accountability.
Public anger has been mounting as fans of the late singer have taken to social media demanding a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation to ensure justice for Humane Sagar, whose music enjoyed massive popularity.
Adding to the uncertainty, the medical report related to Humane Sagar’s health condition has reportedly not yet been handed over to the police by AIIMS authorities, hampering progress in the case.
