Sambalpur District Advisor expelled from BJD
Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday took decisive action by expelling Pramod Rath, who served as the party's Advisor for the Sambalpur District Committee, citing his engagement in anti-party activities.
In an official press statement released today, Pranab Prakash Das, the Organisational Secretary of the BJD, communicated that Rath's expulsion from the party is effective immediately due to his involvement in activities contrary to the party's interests.
Notably, Rath had convened a press conference earlier in the day to formally announce his resignation and separation from the BJD. His decision was attributed to what he perceived as a lack of commitment from the state government in establishing a permanent bench of the Orissa High Court in western Odisha. Intriguingly, the party opted to expel him before he could formally tender his resignation.
