Vidyarambh Parba inspires school enrolment across Odisha, says CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar, April 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday said that Vidyarambh Parba is now being celebrated like a festival in every village and locality across the state, encouraging parents to enrol their children in schools.
Speaking at the state-level Prabesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan Programme-2026, the Chief Minister highlighted that the initiative has generated widespread enthusiasm among families towards early childhood education. The programme was held at a Government Upper Primary School located within Raj Bhavan.
During the event, the Chief Minister symbolically initiated young learners into formal education by guiding them to write the words “Maa” and “Bapa” on slates using chalk, marking their first step into schooling.
Interacting warmly with the children, he engaged them with simple and affectionate questions about their families, food, and daily lives. His friendly approach helped create a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, easing the children into the learning environment.
Officials said the programme aims to make education welcoming and stress-free for first-time learners while boosting enrolment rates. The initiative is seen as a key step towards strengthening foundational education across Odisha.
