CHSE allows Plus II students to reappear in one subject to improve marks

Bhubaneswar, Mar 10: In a major relief for students, the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha (CHSE) has decided to allow Plus II students to reappear in one subject to improve their marks. The new rule will come into effect from the current academic year.

According to CHSE officials, the improvement examination will be conducted within 60 days after the declaration of the Plus II results. The results of the improvement exam will also be published shortly after the test to ensure students do not face delays in applying for higher education courses.

As per the new decision, students who have passed the Plus II examination but wish to improve their marks in one subject can appear for the improvement test. Earlier, students were allowed to reappear only if they had failed in one subject.

Officials said the decision was taken in the interest of students, particularly those who score less than 75 percent marks and face difficulties in competitive entrance examinations such as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

However, students who fail in any subject will not be eligible for the improvement exam. They can instead appear in the instant examination conducted by CHSE. The initiative is expected to help students enhance their academic performance and improve opportunities for higher education.
