Plus II student attacked with blade while heading to exam in Puri district
Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: A shocking incident has surfaced from Odisha’s Puri district where a student was brutally attacked with a blade while she was on her way to appear for her Plus II examination on Friday morning. The attack has sparked concern among locals and parents over the safety of students travelling to examination centres.
According to reports, the incident took place around 8 am on the deserted Nagpur–Muguria Road under the jurisdiction of Gop police station. The girl was reportedly heading towards Gop College to appear for her Plus II examination when an unidentified attacker suddenly assaulted her with a blade.
Hearing the victim’s screams, nearby residents rushed to the spot and immediately came to her rescue. However, the attacker managed to flee from the scene before locals could catch him.
The victim sustained serious injuries to her neck and other parts of her body during the assault. She was quickly shifted to Gop Hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring her condition.
Meanwhile, Gop police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident and are trying to identify the attacker. Officials said the exact motive behind the attack is still unclear, and efforts are underway to trace the accused at the earliest.
