Three members of a family die in suspected food poisoning case in Dhenkanal
Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: In a tragic incident suspected to be caused by food poisoning, three members of a family lost their lives after consuming chicken curry and spinach at Itap village under Kantabania police station limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The deceased have been identified as the wife of Antaryam Sahu and their two sons, Pintu Sahu and Lintu Sahu. According to sources, all three reportedly fell seriously ill shortly after having their meal. As their condition deteriorated, they were rushed to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared them brought dead, raising serious concerns over the cause of the sudden deaths. Following the incident, the bodies of the mother and her two sons were shifted to the hospital mortuary for preservation and further examination.
While food poisoning is being suspected, officials have not ruled out other possible causes. Samples of the consumed food are likely to be collected for laboratory analysis. Police have initiated an inquiry into the matter, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
