Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: Bhawanipatna MLA Sagar Charan Das has claimed that he has received a direct death threat, triggering serious concern over the prevailing law and order situation in Odisha. The legislator from Kalahandi district shared the alarming development on the social media platform X on Friday.

In his post, MLA Das stated that a group of miscreants allegedly assaulted his Bhawanipatna Zone President, threatening to kill him if he refused to disclose the MLA’s personal details and current location. Das further revealed that the attackers conveyed a death threat to him through the party functionary.

“This morning, some miscreants assaulted my Bhawanipatna Zone President, threatening to kill him for not revealing my whereabouts and personal details. They even sent a death threat to me through him,” he wrote in the caption accompanying the post.

Expressing deep concern, Das remarked that if an elected MLA feels unsafe, it raises serious questions about the safety and security of ordinary citizens under the present law and order system. His post has sparked widespread discussion, prompting demands for an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident.
