Music director Abhijit Majumdar battles for life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, may be shifted to Delhi

Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Acclaimed Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar is fighting for his life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he has been placed under intensive critical care. Doctors have kept him on mechanical ventilation support as he remains comatose, battling multiple serious health complications.
Majumdar is undergoing treatment for hypertension, hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease, pneumonia, and severe lung infections. While his kidney and liver functions have shown signs of stability, his overall condition continues to be described as critical but stable, with no major improvement yet.
According to hospital sources, AIIMS Bhubaneswar is in constant consultation with AIIMS Delhi to explore advanced treatment options. If necessary, Majumdar may be airlifted to Delhi for specialized care, depending on the advice of senior medical experts.
Meanwhile, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling has assured that the state government will bear all medical expenses. He has also instructed that a special medical team be constituted to supervise Majumdar’s treatment. A final decision on transferring him to Delhi will be taken after discussions with AIIMS directors and medical specialists.
Fans and well-wishers across Odisha continue to pray for the recovery of the celebrated composer.
