PM Modi to enhance tribal connectivity in Odisha with new road projects on Gandhi Jayanti

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti this Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the construction of 147 kilometers of roads in the tribal regions of Odisha as part of the PM Janman Yojana.
This initiative is a component of the larger ₹83,300 crore Dharti Aba Janjatiya Village Excellence Campaign, which aims to uplift the lives of 5 crore tribal people across 63,000 villages in 549 districts and 2,740 blocks nationwide. The project focuses on improving healthcare, social services, and overall living standards in tribal areas, heralding a new era of development. A total of 25 ministries from the Union government will collaborate to ensure the project's success.
In Odisha, roads will be constructed to enhance transit facilities in various tribal regions, including Deogarh, Gajapati, Mohana, Rayagada, Baliguda, Malkangiri, Gunupur, and Sundargarh. In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for several community-focused initiatives in these tribal areas.
The launch of the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Village Excellence Campaign will take place at a ceremony in Hazaribag, Jharkhand, on the same day.
