Scared of its impending defeat in the Chhattisgarh elections, ED the last hope for BJP

Bhubaneswar : Through a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Office, Former Finance Minister Mr. Panchanan Kanungo severely criticized Modi, Shah and the Central Government in the contest of mahadev betting app for issuing an ED notice to the Chief Minister and Government of Chhattisgarh State in reference to the betting app. He urged that if the so-called Monch Modi and Saint Shah have the guts, then the Mahadev online betting app should be immediately banned across the country and its main kingpins Ravi Uppal and Saurabh Chandrakar should be arrested. Although the Mahadev app is public and operated across the country, Chhattisgarh is the first state to file more than 70 cases against the Mahadev app. Chhattisgarh police arrested 450 people and seized 191 laptops, 865 mobiles, assets worth more than 1.5 crores, more than 41 lakhs in cash and bank accounts of 16 crores.

    The first case was filed on 30.3.2022. Chhattisgarh police raided Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi and other states and arrested many people. Investigation revealed that there is no branch or operation base for Mahadev App in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Police issued a lookout notice in July 2023 after app masterminds and kingpins Ravi Uppal and Saurak Chandrakar were found to be operating the app from Dubai. Apart from completely banning Mahadev App in Chhattisgarh, the state government has also requested the central government to stop all its operations and stop its expansion across the country. But unfortunately, despite all this, the app is still functional.

    Modi-Shah-Sitharaman's financial masterclass decided to legalize all online gambling in India and impose 28% GST on this unscrupulous activity. Looking at the management position of the alleged criminal Mahadev App, we believe that since the BJP is funded by Mahadev App, thus it continues its immoral activities freely. The BJP is holding back on arresting the Kingpin, fearing that funding to the party will be cut off.

    Sri Kanungo asked BJP three questions. (1) Why did BJP legitimize online gambling by imposing 28% GST? (2) Why the main accused of Mahadev Betting App has not been arrested from Dubai. (3) Why the central government has not banned the Mahadev betting app in the entire country. Looking at all these processes, it is clear that the BJP with the help of ED trying to put the Congress government in trouble in Chhattisgarh state when elections are ahead and targeting the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The charge sheet filed in the court by ED, after raiding the houses of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's political advisers and other close relatives clearly stated that no objectionable evidence was found from all these people.

    Spokesperson Sri Prasant Satpathy addressed reporters and said that everyday, investors of crypto-currencies are defrauded of hundreds of crores of rupees, while the Modi government decided to levy income tax on it and gave it legitimacy. Income tax is levied on crypto currencies in the name of virtual digital assets. How reasonable is it to legitimize online gambling or crypto currencies where the common man is defrauded out of billions of rupees? Ever since the Modi government came to power, more than 5 thousand cases have been filed by ED till date. In which more than a thousand arrests have been made. But only 24 cases have been heard and judgment delivered. So it is evident that BJP is using ED as its main weapon to harass opposition leaders for political purposes. Spokesperson Mr. Amiya Pandav called on the BJP and said that if they have the courage, they should immediately ban the online betting app in the country and arrest the prime accused of the Mahadev betting app from Dubai. Among others, spokesperson Rajani Mohanty was present.
