Fake call center busted in Bhubaneswar, five detained
Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on Wednesday uncovered a fake call center operating in the capital city and detained five individuals in connection with the racket.
The illegal call center was running from Block A-205 of Kanchan Apartment in Sundarpada, a suburb of Bhubaneswar.
Acting on a tip-off, the Cyber and Airfield police conducted a raid at the location, seizing various items and equipment used for fraudulent activities.
The detained individuals are currently being interrogated to gather more information about the extent of the operation and other members involved in the racket.
Speaking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra stated, “The investigation is still in its early stages. Since this is a technical matter, we will provide detailed information once our experts complete their analysis.”
