Sambalpur Court receives fresh bomb threat; security intensified after fourth such incident
Bhubaneswar, July 13: Tension gripped the Sambalpur Court premises on Monday after the court received another anonymous email threatening a bomb attack. The latest threat prompted authorities to tighten security and launch a comprehensive search operation to ensure the safety of judges, lawyers, court staff and visitors.
According to reports, the threatening email warned of an explosion at the court complex. Soon after the alert was received, police personnel rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Security teams carried out a thorough inspection of the entire premises to detect any suspicious objects or explosive materials.
Officials said this is the fourth bomb threat received by the Sambalpur Court in the last four months, raising serious concerns over the repeated targeting of the judicial institution. The recurring incidents have created anxiety among members of the legal fraternity and the public, prompting calls for enhanced security measures.
A specialised cyber team has been assigned to trace the origin of the email and identify the person or group responsible for sending the threat. Investigators are examining digital evidence and tracking electronic footprints to determine whether the threats are linked to previous incidents.
Police have assured that all necessary precautionary measures have been put in place and that court proceedings are being closely monitored. Authorities have also appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours while the investigation is underway.
