Odisha Vigilance unearths crores in assets linked to OCCL Executive Engineer
Bhubaneswar, July 13: The Odisha Vigilance has unearthed assets worth crores of rupees during simultaneous searches at properties linked to Sanjay Kumar Kispatta, Executive Engineer of the Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd. (OCCL), who is currently posted in Balangir on deputation to the Lower Suktel Project.
According to the Vigilance Department, the searches have so far revealed a four-storeyed commercial building spread over nearly 8,000 square feet with 23 rooms. The lodge is located at Kumbha-I in Koraput town and is considered one of the major assets detected during the raids.
Officials also discovered an under-construction residential house at Kumbha-II in Koraput along with eight high-value plots—five in Koraput, two in Rourkela and one in Bhubaneswar. In addition, Vigilance teams identified one Toyota Innova Crysta, a two-wheeler and several other movable assets.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently measuring and assessing the value of the buildings and land. Officials are also verifying bank deposits, financial investments and gold jewellery, the valuation of which is still in progress. Searches at multiple locations are continuing.
Vigilance officials said Kispatta joined government service in 2011 as an Assistant Engineer in the Water Resources Department at Narayanpatna with a consolidated monthly salary of Rs 9,300. He was regularised in 2016 and subsequently served in several engineering positions in Koraput before being promoted as Executive Engineer in March 2026 and later posted to OCCL.
The disproportionate assets investigation is continuing, and Vigilance officials said further details will emerge after completion of the valuation and verification process.
