Driver found murdered in Jharsuguda, body dumped on road; police launch investigation
Bhubaneswar, July 3: A 42-year-old man was found murdered under the Belpahar Police Station limits in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district, triggering a detailed police investigation into the brutal crime.
The deceased has been identified as Srujan Kumar, a native of Jharkhand who had been residing in Muchbahal for the past two decades. He was employed as a driver in the local mining area and was well known among residents.
According to preliminary reports, unidentified miscreants allegedly murdered Srujan before dumping his body on a road in the Muchbahal area in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime. After abandoning the body, the accused reportedly fled the spot before anyone could identify them.
Local residents noticed the body lying on the roadside and immediately alerted the police. Acting on the information, officers from Belpahar Police Station, along with Brajrajnagar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and a scientific investigation team, rushed to the scene.
The police cordoned off the area and began collecting forensic evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Investigators are probing all possible angles, including personal enmity and other motives behind the killing. Police have launched efforts to identify and trace the accused, while further investigation into the sensational murder case is currently underway.
