Woman Killed Inside Mohali Office; CCTV Footage of Attack Sparks Public Anger

Mohali, Punjab: A shocking incident in Punjab's Mohali district has triggered widespread outrage after a woman was fatally attacked inside her workplace in full view of her colleagues. The disturbing episode, captured on CCTV cameras, has once again raised concerns about women's safety and workplace security.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Dimple, was working at a private logistics company in Mohali's Phase 11 area when the attack occurred. According to police officials, the accused, Harvinder Mann, allegedly entered the office premises and confronted the woman before launching a violent assault. Several employees were present at the time and witnessed the incident unfold.

Authorities said the victim suffered multiple injuries during the attack. Colleagues reportedly rushed to assist her and emergency services were alerted immediately. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The tragic incident has left co-workers and local residents in shock.

Investigators revealed that the accused and the victim were previously involved in a relationship. Preliminary findings suggest that personal disputes may have played a role in the crime. Police are examining all possible motives and collecting evidence to establish the sequence of events leading up to the attack.

Following the incident, the accused allegedly attempted to injure himself and was later admitted to a hospital under police supervision. Officials stated that he remains under observation and will face legal proceedings once medically fit.

The CCTV footage recorded at the office has become a major focus of the investigation. The video, which has circulated widely on social media platforms, has drawn strong reactions from citizens across the country. Many have expressed concern over the growing number of crimes against women and questioned how such a violent act could take place inside a professional workplace.

Women's rights groups and social activists have called for stricter enforcement of laws related to harassment, stalking, and threats from former partners. They have also urged employers to strengthen workplace security systems and establish effective mechanisms for reporting and addressing safety concerns.

Police teams have collected statements from eyewitnesses and employees who were present during the incident. Investigators are also reviewing digital evidence, communication records, and CCTV footage to determine whether there were prior warning signs or complaints linked to the accused.

Senior police officials assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that all aspects of the case will be examined. They emphasized that strict legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.

The tragic death of the young woman has reignited a national debate on gender-based violence and the need for preventive measures. As the investigation progresses, many are calling for greater awareness, stronger protection mechanisms, and swift justice for victims of such crimes.

The incident serves as a grim reminder of the challenges that continue to exist in ensuring the safety of women, both in public spaces and within workplaces, and has prompted renewed demands for stronger safeguards across the country.
