Vigilance raids at 5 locations linked to Angul hospital staff
Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday carried out simultaneous searches at five locations linked to Subrat Kumar Behera, a Junior Assistant at Angul District Headquarters Hospital, in connection with an alleged misappropriation of government funds worth Rs 2.38 crore. The कार्रवाई is part of Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 06/2026 registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
A multi-team operation has been launched involving five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eight Inspectors, 14 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff. The coordinated raids aim to gather documentary and financial evidence related to the suspected embezzlement.
Searches are underway at Behera’s triple-storey residence located in Hakimpada area of Angul town. Vigilance teams are also examining his relative’s house at Bonda village under Nalco Nagar police limits, his paternal home at Baunsapokhari in Hindol area of Dhenkanal district, and a rented residence of his cousin at Shree Vihar in Bhubaneswar.
In addition, officials are scrutinising records at his office chamber in the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) office in Angul. The searches are continuing, and further findings are awaited.
