Odisha Government adds 151 posts to OCSE 2025 after CM’s intervention
Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: In a major relief for civil service aspirants, the Odisha government on Saturday announced that 151 additional posts will be filled under the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025. The decision came following the personal intervention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, after concerns were raised by candidates over missing vacancies in the earlier notification.
The OCSE 2025 notification issued by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on December 31, 2025, had not included posts in important cadres such as the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS). The omission triggered widespread dissatisfaction among aspirants, many of whom had been preparing specifically for these coveted services.
Taking swift action, Chief Minister Majhi reviewed the vacancy position across departments and directed that the excluded posts be included in the recruitment process. Acting on the directive, the OPSC has been asked to fill 14 posts in OAS, 113 in ORS, 16 in Odisha Transport Service (OTS), and 8 in Odisha Welfare Service (OWS), taking the total number of additional posts to 151.
The move is expected to significantly expand opportunities for aspirants to compete and succeed purely on merit. Emphasising the government’s commitment to employment generation, the Chief Minister said recruitment remains a top priority, noting that nearly 40,000 government posts have been filled in the last 18 months.
