BJP’s resounding win in Nuapada by-poll marks ‘New Chapter’ for Odisha: CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar, Nov 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party’s emphatic victory in the Nuapada by-election, calling it a clear endorsement of the party’s development-driven governance. In his statement, Majhi thanked the people of Nuapada for placing their trust in the BJP and rejecting what he described as the opposition’s “propaganda and hollow promises.”
Majhi said the by-poll results reflect a major shift in Odisha’s political landscape. “The outstanding performance and victory of the BJP in the Nuapada by-election has heralded a new chapter in the state’s politics. This mandate reaffirms the people’s faith in our policies, ideals, and welfare programmes,” he stated.
The Chief Minister congratulated newly elected MLA Jay Dholakia and appreciated the efforts of BJP state president Manmohan Samal, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and party workers. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for guiding development efforts across the country. “Today, Modi ji’s leadership is synonymous with progress. Our government is committed to working tirelessly for the welfare of the people,” he added.
Majhi also assured the residents of Nuapada of accelerated development initiatives, promising a more prosperous future for both the district and the state.
In the final tally, BJP candidate Jay Dholakia secured an impressive 1,23,869 votes. Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi came second with 40,121 votes, while BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria finished third with 38,408 votes.
