Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: A pall of gloom descended on Puri town after the body of a missing minor boy was recovered from a waterbody near Shree Setu under Town Police limits on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Surya Sahu, a resident of the same area.

According to reports, Surya had gone missing on Tuesday morning after he went to a nearby market to buy breakfast for his family. When he did not return, his anxious family members searched for him and later lodged a missing complaint at the Town Police Station. Despite continuous efforts, there was no trace of the boy until his body was spotted floating in the waterbody two days later.

Police suspect that miscreants might have killed the boy and dumped his body in the water to destroy evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, police have registered a case of abduction and murder, and multiple teams have been formed to investigate the incident and identify those behind the heinous crime.
