Odisha CM unveils logo of Godavarish Adarsha Vidyalaya scheme
Bhubaneswar, Nov 14: In a significant step toward transforming Odisha’s school education system, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday unveiled the official logo of the ambitious Godavarish Adarsha Vidyalaya scheme at Lok Seva Bhawan. The initiative aims to strengthen the quality of education and enhance learning outcomes for children across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the scheme will usher in a new era of modern, engaging, and inclusive education. Under its first phase, the state government will invest nearly ₹12,000 crore over four financial years (2025–26 to 2028–29) to upgrade 2,200 schools. Each Gram Panchayat will have one model school, with preference given to centrally located villages offering good connectivity and at least five acres of land.
Majhi also highlighted the symbolism embedded in the newly launched logo. Designed to reflect Odisha’s cultural richness and inspired by eminent educationist Pandit Godavarish Mishra, the logo features an open book representing knowledge, a pen nib symbolising creativity, and a burning torch standing for truth and enlightenment.
The surrounding rays denote moral illumination, while the circular form reflects harmony and inclusivity. Three stars in the design represent knowledge, character, and service, reinforced by Odia script encircling the emblem.
