Odisha Crime Branch issues lookout circular in SI recruitment scam, freezes bank accounts of key accused

Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: The Odisha Crime Branch has intensified its investigation into the sensational police sub-inspector (SI) recruitment scam, issuing lookout circulars against several absconding accused to prevent them from fleeing the country.
According to sources, the agency has also frozen bank accounts of 10 accused persons, including key conspirators Sankar Prusty and Muna Mohanty. These financial actions aim to trace the flow of illegal money allegedly collected from candidates in exchange for access to leaked question papers of the Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2024.
Crime Branch special teams are currently conducting raids in Jharkhand and Bihar to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover crucial evidence related to the leak.
Earlier, Odisha Police had arrested 114 aspirants while they were being transported to Visakhapatnam in three buses for “training” on how to answer the leaked question papers. Investigators revealed that each aspirant had allegedly paid Rs 25 lakh to the racket’s organizers. The Crime Branch is now focusing on uncovering the larger network behind the scam and the potential involvement of insiders.
