Helicopter to be deployed for Nuapada by-election to ensure smooth polling in remote areas

Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) R.S. Gopalan has announced that a helicopter will be deployed to facilitate the smooth conduct of the upcoming Nuapada by-election, ensuring polling personnel can safely reach remote and forested areas.
According to the CEO, the helicopter will be used to transport polling officials and election materials to eight polling booths situated in five remote forest locations that are difficult to access by road. After the completion of voting, the teams will also be flown back to their respective bases. This step aims to ensure that no voter is deprived of their right to vote due to geographical or security challenges.
Gopalan further informed that 47 polling booths in Maoist-affected regions have been categorized as sensitive, and stringent security arrangements are being implemented. To maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents, 14 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed across the constituency. These special logistical and security measures underscore the Election Commission’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and peaceful election in Nuapada.
