Nuapada by-election on November 11: Final voter list released, political battle intensifies

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: With the Nuapada by-election officially scheduled for November 11, preparations are in full swing as the final voter list has been published by the district administration.
According to District Election Officer and Collector Madhusudan Dash, the total number of registered voters in the constituency stands at 2,53,624, including 1,24,108 male voters, 1,29,495 female voters, and 21 third-gender voters. The electoral roll also highlights 1,786 senior citizens, 9,429 first-time young voters, and 3,988 voters with disabilities, reflecting a diverse voter base.
The by-election, being held following the demise of sitting MLA Rajendra Dholakia, has set the stage for an intense political contest. While the Congress has already announced its candidate, the BJP and BJD are yet to finalize theirs.
Sources said the BJP’s core committee is expected to meet today to deliberate on candidate selection and campaign strategy.
Meanwhile, the district administration has begun extensive poll preparedness measures, including voter awareness drives and logistical arrangements, to ensure a smooth and fair election process. Political observers predict a closely fought triangular contest in this politically significant constituency.
