BJP welcomes key figures from BJD and Congress in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, March 4: Sitting BJD MLA from Telkoi constituency, Premananda Nayak, and former BJD legislator from Dhamnagar, Rajendra Das, officially embraced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, marking a significant shift ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly elections.
Joining them was former Bhadrak MLA Naren Palai, who recently parted ways with the Congress party, also choosing to align himself with the BJP on the same day.
These political figures, along with their supporters, ceremoniously joined the BJP ranks during the Misrana Parba (joining ceremony) held at the BJP’s state headquarters. The event witnessed the presence of BJP state unit president Manmohan Samal.
This move follows the recent inclusion of three other prominent personalities into the BJP fold - former minister and five-time BJD MLA Arabinda Dhali, former BJD MLA Mukunda Sodi, and retired Air Marshal Dilip Kumar Patnaik - all of whom joined the BJP on Sunday.
Adding to the momentum, prior to these developments, two sitting BJD MLAs, Pradeep Panigrahi and Prashant Jagdev, also made the switch to the BJP.
