Team India’s Squad For The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Announced
Team India’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has been announced by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) . In a surprising move the BCCI has roped in former captain MS Dhoni as the team mentor specifically for this tournament. Dhoni, who retired from international cricket last August .
The 15-member Team India squad will be led by Virat Kohli during the championship. Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami. The standby players will be Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 17 with the qualifying rounds. India kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24.
