Public darshan at Puri Jagannath Temple to remain suspended for over four hours
Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: Public darshan of the deities at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain suspended for over four hours on Wednesday due to the observance of the sacred Rahurekha Lagi ritual.
According to a notification issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the ritual will be performed on the occasion of Bhadraba Krushna Panchami. The special ritual is an important religious observance at the temple and will be conducted as part of the day’s scheduled rituals.
As per the notification, following the completion of the first Bhoga Mandapa offering, general darshan of Lord Jagannath and the sibling deities will be temporarily suspended. The suspension is expected to remain in effect from approximately 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm, covering a period of more than four hours.
The temple administration has advised devotees planning to visit the shrine on Wednesday to take the temporary restriction into consideration while scheduling their pilgrimage.
The SJTA has also appealed to devotees to cooperate with temple authorities and follow the prescribed arrangements during the ritual. The temporary suspension is being implemented to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of the sacred ceremony.
