IMD issues orange, yellow warnings for several Odisha districts
Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange and Yellow warnings for several districts of Odisha, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next five days.
For September 2, an Orange Warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places. A Yellow Warning has also been issued for Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Subarnapur for heavy rainfall.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are likely in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Subarnapur. Winds of 30-40 kmph are also likely in Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh.
On September 3, a Yellow Warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh for heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also likely across several districts.
For September 4, 5 and 6, the IMD has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and winds reaching 30-40 kmph in several coastal and interior districts, including Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri and Ganjam.
