NIA team visits Capital Hospital in Azadnagar blast probe
Bhubaneswar, April 28: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday as part of its ongoing investigation into the Azadnagar bomb explosion case.
According to sources, the officials collected crucial medical records and other relevant documents related to the accused and his associate, who were brought to the hospital immediately after the blast. The agency is closely examining the nature of injuries and treatment details to piece together the sequence of events.
Investigators are also probing whether high-intensity explosives such as RDX were used in the incident and if the blast is linked to a larger conspiracy or organised criminal network. As part of the inquiry, the NIA team is reviewing the timeline following the explosion, including the condition of the injured suspects when they were admitted.
Officials are expected to interact with doctors and hospital staff who treated the injured to gather first-hand accounts and additional evidence.
The explosion occurred on January 27 in the Azadnagar area of Sundarpada, leaving four persons critically injured and triggering a high-level investigation.
