Man killed by train while crossing track in Boudh
Bhubaneswar, April 20: A 52-year-old man lost his life after being run over by a train while crossing a railway track near Rangamatia in Odisha’s Boudh district. The deceased has been identified as Bijay Dalabehera, a resident of Madhusudanpur village under Boudh police station limits.
According to reports, Dalabehera was employed at a rice mill in Rangamatia and was returning home after completing his shift when the tragic incident occurred. While attempting to cross the railway track, he was hit by a speeding train. The impact was extremely severe, resulting in the severing of his left leg and a critical head injury, leading to his death on the spot.
Family members grew concerned when he failed to return home at his usual time. They began searching for him and, after several hours, discovered his body lying near the railway track late at night.
Following the incident, the family lodged a written complaint at Boudh Police Station. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the mishap.
