Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: A woman sustained critical injuries after a speeding car rammed into a motorcycle near the Court Complex at Kalpana Square in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning, triggering panic and traffic congestion in the busy area.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman was travelling on a bike along with her husband and their child when an Innova car allegedly hit their vehicle from behind. The sudden impact caused all three to lose balance and fall onto the road. In a horrifying turn of events, the car reportedly ran over the woman’s head, leaving her severely injured on the spot.

Locals immediately rushed to assist the injured family and alerted emergency services. The woman was quickly shifted to Capital Hospital, where doctors stated that her condition remains critical.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Innova fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle amid chaos. The incident led to heavy traffic snarls around Kalpana Square during peak morning hours. Police have launched an investigation and are working to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
