Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: A shocking incident has come to light from Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where the body of a newborn baby girl was found inside the toilet of the female ward on Tuesday, triggering outrage and concern among patients and hospital staff.

According to preliminary reports, it is suspected that a woman delivered the baby inside the toilet and abandoned the newborn before fleeing the scene. The tragic discovery was made when a relative of another patient noticed the infant and immediately alerted hospital authorities.

Hospital staff rushed to the spot, but by then the baby was already dead. Despite efforts by the administration, the identity and whereabouts of the mother remain unknown. Hospital authorities have so far remained tight-lipped about the matter, adding to public concern.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the woman involved and ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the incident. CCTV footage from the hospital premises is being examined, and staff and patients are being questioned.
