Bhubaneswar, May 12: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a 'Yellow' warning for hot and humid conditions likely to affect multiple districts in Odisha over the coming days. The advisory will remain in effect until May 17, urging residents to take precautions against rising temperatures and discomfort due to humidity.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, areas such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj are expected to experience high heat and humidity on May 13.
On May 14, the conditions are predicted to continue in most of these districts, excluding Keonjhar, while on May 15, the district of Dhenkanal is also forecast to be impacted.
The IMD’s ‘Yellow’ warning indicates weather that may cause discomfort, especially among elderly people, children, and those with existing health issues. Citizens are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take preventive health measures.
