Odisha’s Om Prakash Behera scores 100 percentile in JEE Mains, makes state proud

Bhubaneswar, April 19: In a remarkable achievement, Om Prakash Behera from Odisha has created history by scoring a perfect 100 percentile in the JEE Mains examination. His exceptional performance is a reflection of his relentless hard work, discipline, and the strong support system provided by his family.
Om Prakash’s parents, Kamal Kant Behera and Smita Rani Behera, played a crucial role in his journey to success. His mother, Smita Rani, a college lecturer, took a bold step by going on long-term leave to accompany him to Kota, Rajasthan — the hub of competitive exam preparation. She dedicated the last three years solely to supporting her son's academic goals.
His father, Kamal Kant Behera, an officer in the Odisha Administrative Service, also made personal sacrifices by taking a deputation in Delhi to stay close to Om during his JEE preparation years.
Om Prakash began preparing for JEE from Class 10 and scored 92% in his board exams. He adhered to a strict routine, dedicating 8 to 9 hours daily to self-study, avoiding mobile phones to stay focused. His mantra: “Focus on the future, not the past.”
