Four labourers killed in tragic accident on NH-26 in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: In a heartbreaking incident, four daily wage labourers lost their lives after a speeding truck ran over them on NH-26 near Jabakanaadi village under Jeypore Sadar police limits in Koraput district on Friday.
The victims, identified as Dhoba Paraja, Ghasi Paraja, Nakia Paraja, and Buti Paraja, were residents of Bichalakota Colony in Boipariguda block. The accident occurred early in the morning while the victims were en route to their work on a motorbike. Reports suggest that the truck, traveling at high speed, collided with the bike, throwing the riders off. Three of them died instantly, while the fourth succumbed to injuries at the hospital despite medical intervention.
The incident caused a massive traffic jam on NH-26, with vehicles stranded on both sides of the road. Police seized the truck and launched an investigation into the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and efforts are underway to clear the traffic.
