Mother and daughter stabbed over land dispute in Sambalpur
Bhubaneswar, June 14: A woman and her daughter were admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science And Research in Sambalpur after being stabbed by a miscreant in Dinapali, under the Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district, on Friday.
According to sources, Indu Das and her daughter Payal were on their way to their shop when they were allegedly attacked by Suraj Hati. The families of Suraj and Indu have been at odds over a land dispute.
Following the attack, both Indu and Payal were rescued and initially taken to Sambalpur Sadar Hospital. As their condition worsened, they were transferred to Burla Medical College and Hospital.
It is reported that Suraj absconded after committing the crime. Upon being informed, police launched a manhunt for him. Indu runs a tailoring shop to support her family after her husband developed health issues.
