Odisha bus helper rescues baby abandoned near wheels
Keonjhar, Jan 15: In a heroic act, the helper of a private bus in Odisha's Keonjhar district rescued a baby girl from a perilous situation near the bus wheels at the Champua bus stand on Sunday night.
Dhabaleshwar, the vigilant helper, discovered the abandoned infant inside a plastic bag during a routine vehicle inspection. Without hesitation, he alerted both the local community and the police about the alarming discovery. Upon police intervention, the baby was promptly transferred to the nearby Champur Sub-District Hospital, where she was found to be in good health.
Authorities suspect that the baby's mother abandoned her and hastily left the bus stand. It appears the mother intended to place her daughter near the wheels, potentially risking harm when the bus started moving. Concurrently, the police have initiated a search operation to locate the whereabouts of the baby girl's mother.
